My Complete In-Home Furniture Collection
Over the years, I’ve been building up my in-home furniture collection. The complete breakdown is below.
One of the easiest ways to express yourself in your home is through your furniture choices. Do you love modern styles? Minimalist? Bright and funky? The choices and options are endless and I’m always asked about the pieces I own. For the most part, I keep it pretty simple. I prefer simple, timeless pieces and accessorize them well to add pops of color and flavor. Whether it’s bedroom furniture from Floyd Detroit, living room pieces from Hay Design, or even sturdy shelving units from Better Homes & Gardens, everything serves a purpose and can be moved around. Below, I give you the full breakdown of all the furniture I own and where I have it in my apartment. Hopefully you’re inspired to pick up a new piece and if so, let me know what you’re feeling in the comments. Everything is linked for your convenience, too. Enjoy!
The Floyd Platform Bed
If you’ve been keeping up, you know how much I love Floyd’s Platform Bed. It’s low-profile, easy to put together, sturdy and just looks downright gorgeous. If you want a platform bed, look no further. I’ve had mine just about a year now and literally, no complaints. I opted for the birch/black combination, including the headboard and one underbed storage unit — not essential additions, but great to have if it’s in your budget.
The Floyd Sofa
Alongside the Floyd Bed, I also have the Floyd Sofa. This is another one of my essential pieces I’m constantly recommending to others because of the durability, customization options and overall look. It’s pleasing to the eye and the quality is definitely there. I have the three seater w/ chaise option, but any option you prefer works just fine. For reference, I’m 6’ and it’s super easy for me to spread across the couch, especially on the chaise portion.
The Burrow Carta Bench
When you’re building your home or apartment out, don’t neglect the entryway. A bench is a dope way to drop some furniture in that spot without overcrowding it. By my front door, I’m rocking with the Burrow Carta Bench in Walnut. Sturdy enough to sit and rest on, but also simple enough to leave with a book or figure on top. You also have a few customization options with this, too. Here’s a photo of me sitting on mine.
The Burrow Carta Side Table
This is one of the coolest and most unique pieces of furniture I have in the crib. The Burrow Carta Side Table has two removable wooden slabs on top to allow storage for almost any small essential you’d need. I have mine on the opposite side of my bed and keep a few books, chap sticks, mini candles and more in there. You also have a few options as far as legs go, but I opted for these vintage looking hairpin legs. So nice and again, like with any other Burrow item, it only takes about 30 seconds to put together.
IKEA Lack Side Table
At only $10, the IKEA Lack Side Table is one of my favorite home pieces. It’s as simple and to-the-point as you can get. I’ve owned two for about four years now. One is beside my couch, the other houses my plants. Can’t beat it — the best $10 table you can get!
Hay Design Tray Coffee Table
The Hay Design Tray Coffee Table is the newest addition to the crib. I bought it to replace an old, oversized table I had and I couldn’t be happier. This is sturdy, a wonderful size and super heavy. It looks chic and it’s easy to swap out the decor on top. Everything looks good on it.
Room & Board Emerson Nightstand
If you aren’t familiar with Room & Board, definitely get hip. They’re one of the biggest retailers out there and you’re bound to find some timeless pieces there. The Emerson Nightstand fits beautifully with the rest of my bedroom furniture and I can’t even explain how high the quality is. The drawer is huge and the under-drawer storage is a nice touch — I store a few design books and candles down there.
Better Homes & Gardens 4-Cube Organizer
I use the Better Homes & Gardens 4-Cube Organizer as my bookshelf in my living room. I even store my vinyl records in one of the bottom cubes, too. It’s the perfect size for it all! On top, I have my speaker, some artwork and even more books. If you’re looking for a low-cost solution for around 50 or less books, or even a vinyl record storage solution, check this out.
