My Top Picks For Beanie Season

Temperatures are dropping and beanie season is finally upon us. Whether it’s wool, cotton or cashmere, I think beanies are the perfect addition to anyone’s wardrobe. To me, the perfect beanie has to be extra soft and warm, must contain a bit of stretch while maintaining shape and has to bring life to any outfit. When wearing them, I usually opt for a double cuff above-the-ear look, while some people go for a single cuff or no cuff at all. The opportunities are endless! Below, I’ve showcased a few of the best beanies available with a little info about them and where to purchase.

Cashmere Hat @ J. Crew - $79.50 (before sale)

You’ll never pay $80 for this, just to get that out of the way. This is my everyday beanie and the one I’m wearing in the photo above. The quality of J. Crew’s cashmere definitely shines in this piece. I’ve owned it for just about two years and it hasn’t lost its shape at all! It’s a little pricier than some of the others, but luckily J. Crew is notorious for having a sale. Keep your eye out for one and make this purchase.

Heavy Knit Beanie @ Bricks & Wood - $40-48

I was just introduced to this brand sometime in the last few months and I’m so happy for these guys. They make quality products and it shows! Their beanies 100% cotton, super chunky and gorgeous. If you’ve ever seen Anderson .Paak wearing a nice chunky beanie, it’s probably one from these guys. The salmon colored one might just be one of my next purchases.

Barbour Lambswool Watch Cap @ END Clothing - $55

This Barbour cap draws from tradition and military-inspiration. It’s produced in Scotland from 100% soft lambswool and it’s pretty no-nonsense. Warm, sturdy and classic.

Lambswool Beanie @ Topman - $30

You can’t often beat 100% lambswool at a low price. I think these are worth checking out if you want something basic and clean without spending too much.

Cashmere Knitted Beanie @ Uniqlo - $29.90

I think this beanie gives the best bang for your buck when it comes to comfort, price, quality and style. It’s seamless, so it lays extremely flat when you fold it. 100% cashmere is always good, too. There are plenty of colors to choose from, plus these look great on men and women. Get one.

Finally, The Cashmere Rib Beanie @ Everlane - $58

Grade-A Mongolian cashmere and a perfect fit—I don’t think anyone can go wrong with these. If you rock a double-cuff on your beanie like I do, these are perfect for you.
