Store Spotlight: Hudson’s Hill - Greensboro, NC

Hudson’s Hill is an Americana gem of a store filled with Made-in-USA leather goods, handmade clothing, locally-loomed denim and more.

I’ve been in Greensboro for the last few days for my baby sister’s graduation and wedding — hell of a weekend, right? Actually my first time in the city, too. While exploring, I came across Hudson’s Hill — one of the more interesting stores I’ve seen in a while. You’re instantly welcomed with very Americana-inspired decor, walls of fabric looms and locally-made clothing, plus the smell of denim and leather, too.

After the owner informed me that everything was either made locally in-house or by other local, small shops in the US.. naturally, I tried on a few pieces. Many items caught my eye, but the number one killer was this parka made with vintage WWII camo canvas. They’re one size fits all and it just so happened to fit me perfectly — I should have copped, but hopefully there’s one left when I circle back.

Hudson’s Hill also has an online shop for the out-of-towners, so take a browse, but I highly recommend you stop by if you can ever make it to Greensboro. Between the decor, in-house items, speciality small brands (like Red Wing and Tellason), plus the story behind the items — like Hudson’s creating their own denim on original cone denim mills — I think you’re in for a treat. Tell ‘‘em I sent you.
