KAWS NGV: Companionship in the Age of Loneliness
I thought I was a solid KAWS fan… until I got this book. With over 200 images and a comprehensive overview of all of KAWS’ works over the years, Companionship in the Age of Loneliness was an automatic cop for me and I’ve learned more than I ever knew about the man behind the historic brand. So much artwork, so much culture, so much insight I’d never seen before. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful, detailed books I’ve ever purchased.
BEAMS: Beyond Tokyo
I want to personally thank Rizzoli Books for helping make this profile of BEAMS happen. BEAMS is one of my favorite brands ever and this book takes you through their start, evolution and rise into one of the biggest Japanese fashion brands. If you love anything about underground streetwear culture, Japanese fashion or anything related, you need this in the stash. As you dig deeper inside of Beams: Beyond Tokyo, you’ll also peep how intertwined the fashion culture is out there. So many of the legends and greats taught each other and put each other on, giving and taking so much from each other to make sure everyone because just as great as them. It’s really amazing.
In Fine Style: The Dancehall Art of Wilfred Limonious
One of the coolest, rarest books out here. If you don’t know about Wilfred, we’re talking about a true pioneer of the dancehall artwork scene. Posters, album covers, sleeves and more — all in a very signature, vibrant style. Almost 300 pages of artwork and history here surrounding a very interesting man.
This is a museum quality book spanning through his whole career, starting back in the 70s. I really cherish this book and if you want some design inspo and a history lesson, find this anywhere you can.
The Sartorialist MAN: Inspiration Every Man Wants, Education Every Man Needs
If you aren’t familiar with The Sartorialist, get ready to get your mind blown. I’ve followed his website for a decade now? Maybe more? Who knows, but it’s been forever now and I’ve been impressed since day one. Whether it’s the perfect eye for street photography, the on-point style tips anyone can appreciate or the history of certain styles, you’re bound to learn something major from this book.
As soon as you open the book, before you even get to any words, you’re greeted by seven beautiful full-page photos of some of the best style you’re bound to see anywhere. As you dive deeper, you’ll find style segments where Scott himself breaks down the best ways to wear socks, no socks, bow-ties, dinner jackets, hats, underwear and more. A masterclass.
Hiroshi Fujiwara: Fragment
Hiroshi Fujiwara is one of my favorite designers ever, probably most known for his Fragment Design brand.. and when I say designer, I mean designer. Artwork. clothing lines, collaborations, posters, toys, DJ mixes and more. Dude does it all and this book highlights everything he’s ever done and more. This book is history and motivation for any design lover.

If you’re a fan of kicks on any level, look into getting this book. You’re getting a wealth of information for only $15-16 — you can’t beat that. 320 pages of imagery, history, exclusive interviews with LEGENDS and more. Some of those interviews include Kobe Bryant, Clark Kent, Virgil Abloh and Serena Williams. This makes a wonderful gift for anyone in the sneaker world, but make sure you grab a second copy for yourself too.
Intelligence Magazine by HAVEN
intelligence is the bi-annual fashion and culture magazine by Haven Shop, one of my favorite shops based in Canada. Each issue is always proper, but this specific edition covers the likes of the brilliant minds behind Neighborhood, Hender Scheme, BADBADNOTGOOD, visvim and more. Intentional, informational and stylish as ever — intelligence is always one to grab.
