Store Spotlight: Provider Store - Sydney, Australia

Provider Store is a design studio and shop based out of Sydney, Australia.

The studio creates and sources some of the coolest homegoods you’ll find anywhere. Everything they offer has some sort of Japanese or Scandinavian influence to it—two of my favorite areas for design. Books, cushions, candles, ceramic works—you name it, it’s there.

The products at Provider Store are unique, but not based on trends. They’re simply long lasting, quality products at a fair price. A major key to Scandinavian and Japanese design is timelessness and the owner, Tara, created Provider Store with this in mind. She actually travels to Japan to meet with other creators and artisans, so the products are as official as they come.

Outside of the shop itself, you can also visit the studio where most of the items are made by Provider Store’s team and other creatives as well.

Below, I’ve listed out a few of my favorite items from their different product categories.

Flatware

These picks include a brass teaspoon, an antipasto wooden fork, a wooden spoon and a stainless steel wasabi spoon. Most of these items are made in Japan and would be an excellent addition to anyone’s collection. I’m eyeing that brass spoon, by the way.

Housewares

From the housewares collection, I’ve picked out a gorgeous sake pourer, a beautiful set of salt + pepper shakers finished in a white glaze, pour over coffee cups made in Thailand and more!

Candles

If you aren’t familiar, I used to have my own candle line in the past, so I always get excited when I see some as nice as these. All of Provider Store’s candles use premium soy wax. The jars are all made in either Bangkok or Japan and they’re ready to be used as cups once the wax is gone. These candles look solid!

Cushions + Pillows

Finally, I’ve picked out a few of my favorite cushion designs for sale. The pillows are completely handmade from premium wool, cotton and linen. They’re even hand-dyed, cut and sewn! Cushion inserts are included too, which is a plus.

Outside of the items I chose above, Provider Store also offers a large range of books, artwork, prints and ceramic works. I’m a huge fan of these folks and what they bring to the table. The items are carefully created or sourced in and tell a complete story of quality, respect for culture and good design.
