Store Spotlight: Homme Essentials
The latest menswear and home goods store in Richmond, VA.
If you’re a fan of proper style and design, look no further than Homme Essentials on Lafayette. The owner, Alan (also of Square Trade Goods Co.), is no stranger to the scene and you can quickly tell by the selection of products he carries in-store. As soon as you walk into Homme Essentials, you’re quickly greeted by an array of interesting products on display by the front door. I’m talking beach towels by Banks Journal, zero-waste mugs from W&P’s Porter line and even cannabis-scented lava rocks. Everything is properly curated, even the store decor and the cash-wrap area. Vintage chimneys, furniture by Floyd Detroit and limited edition Be@rbricks all give the place a nice feel.
As you move through the store, you’ll find both popular and obscure items in every category you can think of — locally poured candles, stainless steel jars, leather belts, gradient puzzles, tie-dye hoodies and some of the heaviest fleece you’ll find around. As far as brands go, even the most seasoned style and design guru will be surprised at what they find here — 3sixteen, Square Trade Goods Co., Stan Ray, Velva Sheen, Yield Design, Kinto, Riverside Tool & Dye, plus many many more. It’s not often I say this, but there’s literally something for anyone with good taste here. They’ve only been open a week, but I’ve already purchased multiple pairs of socks, a Be@rbrick set and some incense in my two trips. At this rate, they’re bound to get more of my money and y’all should support, too. Pop in and let them know NSG sent you.
