Spoken Flames: Candles that Engage the Senses

Spoken Flames is a one-of-a-kind, black owned candle brand with creative scent profiles, augmented reality features and a beautiful overall design.

Candles are probably my favorite in-home essential, bar none. The ability they have to transform your mood and your space can’t really be compared to anything else and the latest candles in my lineup come from Spoken Flames — a Black woman owned company focused on activating all of your senses in extreme detail. They achieve this by featuring a unique shimmer in the wax as it melts, a crackling wooden wick, plus augmented reality spoken word and visual additions. The combination of everything is really amazing to see.

Let’s get into the packaging. I was completely impressed from the start! I received the F, Yes Trio Set that featured three different exciting candles. The box housing the candles is super sturdy, features a magnetic closure, metallic and abstract Spoken Flames branding on the outside, plus their tagline on the inside. Details, details, details.

Once I picked up the candles, I was hype to see how heavy and big they were. They’re 8.6 oz each, feature beautiful wooden wicks and have a beautiful scent radiating from them before they’re even lit. The three scents included are vastly different from each other, but all on point. Focused (my personal favorite) features a unique blend of vanilla, sandalwood and eucalyptus. Fearless blends together orange clove, clove and cedarwood for a more earthy tone. Finally, when you want to get into your floral mood, there’s Favored that features a blend of ylang-ylang, jasmine and geranium. The scent throw is also REAL. I typically light my candles in my kitchen to see how far out into my apartment the scent will go and man, these definitely fill my place up — all the way to my main living room. The wooden sicks are soothing — there’s something special about that slight crackle sound in the background as I’m working. A truly wonderful experience.

No matter the product, whether it’s sneakers, food, home decor or etc, I’m ALWAYS a fan of companies who push the envelope and Spoken Flames really pushes the envelope with their integrated augmented reality features. Combining Instagram filters, augmented reality technology and creative design choices in the packaging, each candle lets you visually and audibly receive poems/affirmations through your phone’s camera. This feature really takes things to the next level — I see why they say this isn’t just a standard candle, but a full sensory experience.
