My Favorite WNBA Players + How To Support Them This Season

Outside of being a style guy, I’m also a huge sports guy and that definitely includes the WNBA. These women are extremely talented and I’m a huge believer in giving them credit where credit is due. They work hard, don’t always get the recognition they deserve and more — but I’m doing my part to help change that. If you’re into getting fly like me (which you are if you’re reading this), then what better way to show support than copping and rocking a jersey of your favorite star? Keep reading, learn a little more about some of my favorite WNBA players and go cop you a jersey or two. Click each photo to shop.

For reference, I’m wearing a size XL in the photos above.

A’ja Wilson - Las Vegas Aces

A’ja Wilson is an NCAA champion, 2x WNBA All-Star, 2018 Rookie of the Year and also the #1 draft pick that year. Hell of a way to start your career. I really expect her and the rest of the Aces to cook this season.

Nneka Ogwumike - Los Angeles Sparks

2012 #1 draft pick, 2012 Rookie of the Year, 2016 MVP and 2016 WNBA Champion. She averaged 16, 8 and 2 last season on 28 minutes per game. A HOOPER. Her younger sister also plays for the Sparks — don’t sleep on them.

Elena Delle Donne - Washington Mystics

2x WNBA MVP, 6x WNBA All-Star, WNBA champion, former Rookie of the Year. Delle Donne is the definition of a baller. She’s potentially sitting out this season — something she recently opened up about in her open letter via The Player’s Tribune. Take a read.

Sabrina Ionescu - New York Liberty

The WNBA’s 2020 #1 draft pick! In college, she earned more Player of the Year awards than I can even remember. She’s also the NCAA’s all-time leader in triple doubles. Get ready for a show when she hits the court.

Liz Cambage - Las Vegas Aces

Cambage was the WNBA’s scoring leader in 2018 and she also holds the single-game scoring record, dropping 58 on the Liberty two years ago. She’s also a DJ and fashion designer outside of ball — pretty dope.

Brittney Griner - Phoenix Mercury

Griner has been the WNBA’s blocks leader, as well as an WNBA All-Star, each year of her career so far. She’s also one of 11 players to earn an Olympic gold medal, FIBA World Cup gold medal, WNBA title and NCAA title. Dominant.

Jewell Loyd - Seattle Storm

The WNBA’s 2015 #1 pick and Rookie of the Year. Let’s not forget about her 2018 WNBA Championship, either. Definitely a guard to watch out for.

Candice Dupree - Indiana Fever

The sixth highest scorer in WNBA history with over 6,000+ points. The eighth highest rebounder with almost 3,000 boards. She’s also a 7x All-Star and former WNBA Champion. Solid resume for a solid vet.

Sylvia Fowles - Minnesota Lynx

You’re looking at a 2x WNBA Champion, 2x WNBA Finals MVP, 3x Defensive Player of the Year and much, much more. I feel sorry for anyone trying to guard her or even score on her! It ain’t gonna be a fun time.

Kia Nurse - New York Liberty

Nurse was a top-ten scorer last year in just her second season in the league and it makes complete sense. 2x NCAA Champion, 2x WNBL Champion, 2019 WNBA All-Star and 2020 WNBL MVP. That’s how you start a career.

Sue Bird - Seattle Storm

Sue Bird is the point guard of all point guards. Her WNBA career started in 2002 and she was still averaging career highs during last year’s season. Numerous Olympic gold medals, member of the All-Decade team, WNBA’s all-time assists leader, 3x Champion and 11x All-Star. Also, her wardrobe is definitely better than yours.

Diana Taurasi - Phoenix Mercury

Taurasi is also one of the godliest guards to ever touch a court. Hitting the WNBA in 2004, she’s seen 9 All-Star appearances, 3 WNBA Championships, 2 Finals MVP awards and she’s even on the Top 15 Players of All-Time list. A true GOAT.
