It’s FINALLY cooling down here in the city, so it’s time to take advantage of the fall items in my closet. This is when we really start dressing, as folks like to say, so take a look at some of my favorite choices for the season. With the items below, I’ll get you right with everything from cooler weather tees, sweatshirts, caps and more. Let’s get into it.

A Heavyweight Tee

Heavyweight tees are essential for this time of year. Personally, the average tee doesn’t cut it when it cools down and I love finding one that’s a few notches thicker than normal. They’re going to run you a little more, but they’re worth it and last so long.

A Wool Cap

A nice six-panel cap is in my rotation all year round, but when the temp starts to drop, I switch out my normal stash for ones made of wool. They’re thicker, heavier, so much more sturdy and just a great switch-up overall. I just picked up the Norse Projects one below and boy oh boy, it’s a winner.

A Heavyweight Crewneck Sweatshirt

Just like the tees, I love going heavyweight with my crewnecks as soon as it really cools down. I’m talking up to about 13oz—the cozier, the better! They’re one of my favorite pieces to mix and match with other items in the closet. Also, if you get a really sturdy one, it’s the only one you’ll need.

Fun, Comfy Socks

I’m a huge fan of upgrading my socks in the fall as well. I’m usually wearing pants with a higher hem, so if I’m showing my socks, they better be nice. Thicker socks with a simple accent like a stripe or a full blown pattern like tie-dye both work for me, so here are a few options.
