My Bodycare & Grooming Essentials
I know a lot of you guys have been waiting for me to highlight my essential bodycare items on the blog, so I’m excited to finally go into detail. I’m gonna show you what I use to moisturize my body, my favorite toothpaste, how I keep my waves in check, how I keep my beard on point and even my deodorant of choice. Let’s get it started.
For The Body: Raw Apothecary Ivory Shea Butter - $14.95
I can have really dry skin sometimes, so it’s a struggle finding something that actually keeps me from being ashy longer than 20 minutes. That’s where this shea butter from Raw Apothecary comes into play. If you’ve never tried using shea butter, it’s about as natural and effective as it gets. You can use it as is, whip it, mix it with other oils & more. Choice is yours, but just know it works.
for the pits: Lone natural deodorant - $9.95
For years, I was skeptical about natural deodorant. Something about the thought of relying on crystal rollerballs throughout my workouts had me nervous. Last September, I came across Lone Deodorant and finally made the switch. The deodorant WORKS and doesn’t stain clothes, which was another problem of mine. Lone’s deodorant is also free from aluminum, baking soda, phthalates, parabens and artificial fragrance. You can choose between a push-through cream and a stick form—I prefer the stick form found here. Use promo code NICKSAYS for 15% off your first order, too.
For the hair: brandless organic virgin coconut oil - $3
I’ve tried plenty of expensive products in the past, but good old organic coconut oil is the only thing I’ve found that really works for my hair. It keeps my hair soft and my waves wavy. Pick a jar up from any store and let me know what you think.
for the beard: ebo beard butter - $10, scotch porter beard balm - $20, scotch porter smoothing beard serum - $20
I pride myself on keeping a nice beard, but I couldn’t do it without a few tools. When my beard is shorter, I tend to use the Scotch Porter Beard Balm & Beard Serum. When it’s longer, I love the EBO Beard Butter (especially the pomegranate). They all keep my beard looking thick, shiny and organized. EBO comes in a TON of different scent options, so play around and thank me later. Scotch Porter’s products are tried-and-true, so you can’t go wrong there either.
for the teeth: hello oralcare fluoride free whitening toothpaste - $5
This toothpaste is a key. It helps keep my pearly whites nice and pearly white. The minty taste is nice and subtle and I really don’t have any complaints. If you’re looking for a natural toothpaste, make the jump to Hello and don’t think twice.
I hope I gave you guys some insight into some new products to go out and try. I use these items faithfully, so make sure you let me know what you think! Be on the lookout for a part two where I showcase my facial skincare routine & the products I use, too. Peace.
